Dear Friend,
Otter Rafting Adventures can give you the fun, excitement
and thrills you are looking for! Whether it is
rafting or
kayaking, the
Upper Red Deer River offers the Best
whitewater in Alberta. Starting at the front range
of the Rockies, this section of the river offers 40 kms
of class 3 - 5 whitewater, sure to be a highlight of
your summer!
We are
located in the town of
Sundre about 30 minutes off the
Calgary-Edmonton corridor
and 45 minutes off the Calgary-Banff corridor; not far
from Alberta’s major centres.
To go
rafting, all you need is a change of clothes and running
shoes!
Your one
day trip starts with your arrival at our office
about 9:00 a.m. Your hosts will help you get properly
equipped for the river. We supply a shuttle service,
safety equipment, wetsuits, paddling jacket, and safety and
paddling instruction. All you need for a safe, fun,
exciting day. A hot, hearty riverside buffet
lunch is also supplied. Total
time on the river is about 4 ½ hours depending
on how fast the river is flowing that day.
For
a
half day trip, either arrange to arrive at our
office about 9:00 a.m. for a morning trip or make
arrangements for the afternoon where
we meet you on the
riverside for 1:15p.m. Again, we supply a shuttle
service, safety equipment, wetsuits, paddling jacket,
and safety and paddling instruction. Total
time on the river is about 2 hours depending on
that day's river flow.
After a
great day on the river, expect to be back at your
vehicle about 5 p.m.
There are
several campgrounds,
motels and
restaurants
nearby so you don’t have to rough it. We can arrange to
fill your holidays with horseback riding, ATV tours,
inflatable kayaks,
hiking,
scenic floats and
photo trips through the Rockies or just explore small
town Alberta.
We are on
the river 7 days a week. Join the party
atmosphere on the weekends (our busiest times) or for
just as much excitement, but on a more personal level,
try our midweek trip.
Both
rafting and
inflatable kayaking
trips offer the best excitement for your dollar.
