What to Bring
Weather conditions vary and may change rapidly with little
warning. We suggest a variety of clothing, to dress in layers,
to make your trip more comfortable. Expect warm sunny days with
the possible late afternoon shower.
You Need to Bring the Following to Wear on the River
- Bathing suit
- T-shirt
- Sweatshirt or fleece (with long sleeves)
- Running shoes or velcro sandals (just for rafting)
A towel and a warm change of clothes is always good for when
you get off the river.
Keep in mind that the river temperature averages about 6
degrees Celsius all summer. It is glacial run-off and
therefore cold. The necessary river attire is worn in layers.
If you bring the following footwear on the day of your
adventure, please leave them in your vehicle, as they do
not provide safe footing on or around the river:
- Water/pool shoes
- Clogs/"Crocs"-style shoes
- Flip-flops
Layers
- Bathing suit
- T-shirt
- Wetsuit and booties
- Sweatshirt or fleece
- Paddling jacket
- Running shoes or velcro sandals to protect your feet (and our booties)
You stay warmer by layering, even if those layers are wet. If
you find you are too warm while rafting, you can always take off
some layers or jump in and cool off!! |
